RE: Coronavirus concerns

As you are aware, A Star Care at Home take the health and safety of our service users and staff very seriously.

There’s currently no cause for concern but we’ll keep you informed about any developments and ensure all our carers are doing their utmost to prevent the spread of any virus.

We have been working closely with Trafford Commissioning and given the current situation, we as a company, may need to mobilise delivery in line with our contingency arrangements for care delivery. We may need to flex our capacity to meet the demands of the service with our available staff so please be aware that there may be:

  1. Change to call times to meet the demands on the service and support critical needs.

  2. Temporary changes to your regular care worker.

  3. Agree where possible to combine calls as we may be operating with limited resources.

  4. Agree with your family or informal carers to make arrangements to support you where possible depending on your needs.

We would really appreciate your support with these measures, and please be reassured that we are closely following and complying with the Public Health authorities to ensure that we keep our service users safe and that our staff are supported to continue to deliver great care.

We’d like to share some guidance from Public Health England on steps you should be taking to safeguard your family:

Preventing the spread of infection:

  • Wash your hands often – with soap and water for at least 20 seconds, or an alcohol based sanitiser if soap and water aren’t available.

  • Avoid touching your eyes, nose and mouth with unwashed hands

  • Cover your cough or sneeze with a tissue, then throw the tissue in a bin

  • Clean and disinfect frequently touched objects and surfaces in the home
